The Lexington Story: A Henderson Home Remodel

The Lexington: An Award-Winning Henderson Home Remodel

The Lexington is a full-home Henderson home remodel that transformed a disjointed 1990s-era floor plan into a cohesive, light-filled residence honored as the 2026 NARI Remodeler of the Year in the Residential Interior Over $500,000 category. Our clients came to Kingdom & Co. because the house no longer worked for the way they actually lived. The rooms were chopped up, the ceilings felt cold and vacant, and the kitchen, dining, and bar areas competed with each other instead of flowing together. They wanted a home that looked intentional from the moment they walked in the door, cooked beautifully, entertained effortlessly, and gave them a true spa retreat at the end of the day. This is how we delivered it.

The Challenge: A Disjointed Floor Plan That Worked Against Daily Life

BEFORE

Before our team ever picked up a pencil, we spent time walking the house with the homeowners and listening. Three problems surfaced immediately. First, the entryway opened into an extremely tall, unadorned volume that felt cold rather than welcoming. Second, the main living zone was actually three competing spaces: a formal dining room, a sunken bar, and a kitchen that never quite functioned for cooking or gathering. Third, the primary bathroom was a standard-issue builder layout wedged beside a rarely-used guest bath, with no room to breathe and no connection to the wellness-forward lifestyle the homeowners actually wanted.

This is the kind of problem a surface-level remodel cannot solve. It required whole-home architectural rethinking, which is why our clients chose a design-build partner rather than hiring an architect, an interior designer, and a general contractor separately. One team, one schedule, one budget, one accountable point of contact from concept through final walkthrough.

The Vision: Warmth, Flow, and Spa-Level Retreat

We reimagined the home around three ideas carried through every room: layered architectural ceilings to bring the volume down into human scale, a continuous material language in warm whites and white oak, and a floor plan that finally made sense for how the family lives.

Entryway: From Cold Volume to Layered Welcome

The entry’s original ceiling height made the space feel empty rather than impressive. We introduced a layered coffered ceiling detail, added floor-to-ceiling trimwork on every wall, and shifted to a warm two-tone paint palette. The result is an entry that reads as architecture, not drywall, and that sets the tone for every room beyond it.

Kitchen and Scullery: Where the Home Finally Gathers

BEFORE

The kitchen is where this project earned its award. We removed the walls separating the old formal dining, sunken bar, and cramped kitchen, and replaced them with a single working room anchored by a thirteen-foot island. A large alcove range sits under new windows flanked by glass-front display cabinets, and the coffered ceiling from the entry continues overhead so the architecture reads as one connected idea.

The cabinetry is custom Oakcraft, framed full-overlay in the Nantucket door style. The perimeter runs are HDF with a Sherwin-Williams Incredible White finish. The island is Rift White Oak in a custom Moonlight finish, warm enough to ground the room without darkening it. Countertops run along the wall and wrap the island in a way that echoes the stone used later in the living room mantle, tying two rooms together with one material story.

Tucked behind the kitchen, a concealed galley scullery functions as the home’s true working pantry. It carries its own prep sink, microwave, beverage refrigerator, small-appliance garage, and a new window that the original layout did not have. Cabinetry here is Kingdom & Co. custom cabinetry in Maple with the same Incredible White finish, keeping the hidden room consistent with the public kitchen. This is one of the upgrades that makes the finished space feel effortless when the homeowners entertain: the mess stays out of sight and the main kitchen stays gallery-clean.

Living Room: A Centered Fireplace Wall and White Oak Built-Ins

BEFORE

The original living room was organized around a bulky corner fireplace that forced furniture into awkward angles. We flattened the wall, centered a new linear fireplace beneath the television, and set both into a dramatic stone mantle whose material echoes the kitchen countertops. Custom white oak built-ins flank either side, carrying the home’s wood language across another room. The coffered ceiling continues overhead so the eye never catches a seam between the public spaces.

Primary Bathroom: Four-Zone Spa Sanctuary

BEFORE

The primary bath is why our Henderson home remodel work is increasingly sought out for high end bathroom remodel Las Vegas projects. We absorbed the adjacent guest bathroom into the primary suite footprint, then built the room around four wellness zones: a large walk-in shower, a separate steam shower, a freestanding soaking tub at the center, and a true built-in sauna. Every surface is custom, from the stone slabs to the bespoke tilework, to the vanity cabinetry.

The vanities are Kingdom & Co. custom cabinetry in Select Poplar with a Shaker door and a River Rock finish, a muted stone-washed tone that reads as warm neutral against the marble and tile. Hardware, faucets, and lighting were selected to disappear into the architecture rather than compete with it. This is not a bathroom. It is the part of the home the owners return to every day.

The Result: One of the Best Whole Home Renovations in Las Vegas

BEFORE

What makes The Lexington one of the best whole home renovation Las Vegas projects in our portfolio is not any single room. It is the continuity. The coffered ceilings carry through the entry, kitchen, and living room. The white oak language repeats from the kitchen island to the living room built-ins. The warm neutral palette moves from Incredible White perimeter cabinetry to Moonlight island finish to River Rock primary vanities without a single jarring transition. The floor plan finally matches how the family actually lives: entertain in the kitchen, hide the work in the scullery, and retreat into a true spa sanctuary at the end of the day.

2026 NARI Remodeler of the Year and Why Design-Build Matters

The Lexington earned the 2026 NARI Remodeler of the Year award in the Residential Interior Over $500,000 category at the regional level. That distinction reflects what we believe makes Kingdom & Co. an award winning home builder Henderson NV homeowners return to for their most important projects: a single accountable design-build team from concept sketch to final punch list. There is no finger-pointing between architect and contractor because there is one team. There is no ballooning timeline because design and construction are coordinated from day one. And there is no compromise at the cabinet or stone or tile stage because the designers making those selections are the same people responsible for building them.

Kingdom & Co. holds a Nevada B-2 general contractor license, has been BBB accredited since 2018, and our work has been featured by HGTV (including as a contractor of choice for Property Brothers), Architectural Digest, and Martha Stewart. We have been named Best of Las Vegas in Gold and Silver categories.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a full-home Henderson home remodel like The Lexington typically take?2026-04-13T17:05:53-07:00

A full-home design-build transformation at this scope is phased across design, permitting, and construction. We give every client a custom schedule after the walkthrough because every home has different structural, mechanical, and finish complexities. The design-build model keeps that schedule tighter than running design and construction through separate firms because one team coordinates both.

What is a scullery and why did you include one in The Lexington?2026-04-13T17:07:33-07:00

A scullery is a concealed working pantry located off the main kitchen. The Lexington’s scullery holds a prep sink, microwave, beverage refrigerator, small-appliance garage, and a window that the original layout did not have. It lets the homeowners entertain in a gallery-clean main kitchen while the actual prep and cleanup stay hidden from guests.

Why did you build a sauna into the primary bathroom?2026-04-13T17:07:54-07:00

Our clients wanted the primary suite to function as a daily wellness retreat rather than just a bathroom. By absorbing the adjacent guest bath into the primary footprint, we created room for four distinct zones: walk-in shower, steam shower, freestanding soaking tub, and a built-in sauna. This is a defining feature of our recent high end bathroom remodel Las Vegas work.

What is the NARI Remodeler of the Year award?2026-04-13T17:08:28-07:00

NARI (the National Association of the Remodeling Industry) is the remodeling industry’s primary professional association. The Remodeler of the Year (CotY) awards recognize the best completed remodeling projects across specific category and budget tiers. The Lexington won in the Residential Interior Over $500,000 category at the regional level in 2026.

Why should I choose a design-build firm over hiring an architect and contractor separately?2026-04-13T17:08:49-07:00

A design-build firm delivers one team, one schedule, one budget, and one accountable point of contact from concept through completion. Separating design and construction introduces coordination gaps, scope-gap disputes, and timeline risk. Design-build is the reason Kingdom & Co. is recognized as an award winning home builder Henderson NV homeowners return to for their most important projects.
