Yes. The interior designer’s role has changed in ways that AI is accelerating, but the work itself has not gone away. AI has made the inspiration and visualization parts of design faster. AI has not replaced the work of measured planning, real material sourcing, permits, ergonomic design, or accountability for finished work. Luxury custom home and remodel work in 2026 still requires designers with construction expertise, vendor relationships, and the experience to translate inspiration into buildable plans.
