Culture and Values | Inside Kingdom & Co. Podcast
In this episode of Inside Kingdom & Co., Lincoln Rogers and the Kingdom & Co. team explore company culture and values, discussing how their office environment, design studio, and collaborative team dynamic shape the design-build experience for every client.
Lincoln: How does the new office space reflect the company’s culture and values, Zion?
Zion: I think the biggest thing is what we’ve done now is with our process we’ve really structured it in a multi-step process in order to really create that final product and execute it well.
That has to be done in a space where you need collaboration and we really design the space around that collaborative experience.
Drafting team, with the design team, with the project director team, with the production team that’s actually, you know, the superintendents and with the production managers.
Lincoln: Culture-wise too, I mean our designers, we have the top tier designers in the valley, they are so good at what they do that it was really important for us to give them a design studio to work with their clients and to have give their clients the best experience possible.
With doing that our culture has changed dramatically to where instant validation, client walks in they know that we can do good work and then it gives our designers the ability to really execute the designs that they’re they’re putting together and do it in an effective way, in a timely way, you know.
That way now they go to a bunch of stores and bring back stuff and bring samples to their house and now it’s all here at our hub and they can just bring it to our customers right here and right now and it’s just it’s such a better customer experience.
I keep on saying over and over but customer experience, yeah.
A design studio accelerates decisions and reduces miscommunication between clients and builders. Consolidating materials, finishes, and design tools in one physical space lets clients see and touch selections before committing, which eliminates the back-and-forth of coordinating separate vendors and showrooms. This centralization prevents costly design conflicts that emerge during construction. Kingdom & Co.‘s integrated studio combines a full materials library with top-tier designers on-site, creating a seamless design experience that improves project timelines and customer satisfaction.
Prioritize firms with an in-house design team, a dedicated showroom or studio, transparent communication processes, and a collaborative culture between designers and builders. Outsourced design creates communication gaps that lead to costly revisions and misalignment between concept and construction. A firm that keeps designers, project managers, and builders in the same space demonstrates commitment to collaboration and accountability. Kingdom & Co. operates with all in-house teams co-located in a shared hub, ensuring every decision reflects both design vision and construction feasibility from day one.
In the best firms, designers and builders work together from day one, not in silos, preventing costly miscommunication and design conflicts. This integrated approach keeps the design vision intact through construction and delivers better quality outcomes because the team building the project owns accountability for the design. When designers and builders are separated or outsourced, accountability becomes unclear and change orders multiply. Kingdom & Co. structures their office layout and workflow around designer-builder collaboration, which reduces revisions and keeps projects on timeline and budget.
Yes, in-house designers reduce costs by catching design conflicts early and eliminating communication gaps that separate firms create. A dedicated designer who works directly with your project manager and construction team streamlines revisions and prevents expensive change orders. When designers are outsourced or separate, information gets lost in translation and costly mistakes happen on site. Kingdom & Co. keeps designers, project managers, and builders in the same space so design decisions integrate seamlessly with construction reality, reducing change orders and protecting your budget.
Working with one firm gives you a single point of contact, integrated project management, consistent design vision from concept through construction, and accountability under one roof. You avoid the frustration of coordinating between separate designers and builders, each blaming the other when problems arise. This streamlined approach simplifies communication, accelerates timelines, and ensures your vision remains intact from first sketch to final walkthrough. Kingdom & Co.’s office hub and team culture are built specifically to deliver this integrated experience, with your designer, project manager, and superintendent all accessible in one location throughout your project.
