We replaced the honey-oak cabinetry with white shaker cabinets, set white quartz countertops, and ran a soft grey square-tile backsplash. Matte black hardware, a black industrial faucet, and a black prep sink add contrast, while light wood open shelving keeps it warm. A large island anchors the room with seating for the family, finished with leather counter stools and black pendant lighting over white oak floors.
Off the kitchen, the great room and foyer were brought into the same language. A clean plaster fireplace grounds the great room beneath a mounted display, and white oak floors carry through. The entry was opened up with French doors and a layered runner, so the first thing you see sets the tone for the rest of the home.
